BOS issues a report on the prevalence of gambling addiction in Sweden:

(AsiaGameHub) –   “Consistent decrease over 25 years, yet significant efforts are still required”

Commissioned by BOS, economist Ola Nevander has researched the frequency of gambling addiction in Sweden since the start of the millennium. The findings indicate a continuous decline. This discovery may come as a surprise, considering the rapid expansion of the gambling sector during this timeframe. Even though gambling advertisements are more common, the selection of games has grown, and access is available 24/7 via mobile devices, addiction rates continue to drop.

“By moving from traditional anonymous betting at kiosks to modern digital platforms, we haven’t completely fixed the issue of gambling addiction, but we appear to be on the correct course. When applied properly and ethically, online gaming and AI provide us with the capabilities to drive problem gambling down to historic lows. We are moving in the right direction, though much work is still ahead of us,” remarked Gustaf Hoffstedt, Secretary General of BOS.
